TBT’s Mid-Year Conference (MYC)
Our main annual gathering together under God’s Word in June each year.
Our Mid-Year Conference is often the highlight of our year.
Around 150-200 university students and young adults go away for 4 days at a campsite near Eston/Richmond (KZN) with time together under God’s word as well as singing, praying, fun, food, friendship and so much more.

Meet our main speaker
Badi Badibanga
Elder & Lead Pastor
Badi was born into a large family in the DRC (Congo). They relocated to Johannesburg in 1993 and he has had a heart for Jozi ever since!
In 2010 he married Stephanie and they now have three handsome boys Aydon, Joziah and Lesedi.
Badi became a Christian in late high school after a series of key events which included the death of a friend’s brother, the loss of his dad’s business, and the viewing of a play that portrayed the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It was at university through the Campus Outreach ministry that he was discipled in faith and began to feel a calling to vocational ministry.
After graduating from the University of Johannesburg with a Sport Psychology degree, Badi worked for Campus Outreach and spent time helping young students know and treasure Christ, and also worked as an apprentice for a local church near the University of Johannesburg. He then attended George Whitfield College in Cape Town for his theological studies, and has worked as a pastor ever since, joining the BBC team in 2014.
Badi and Stephanie love engaging with their community and having people over to their house for meals and games. Badi also enjoys playing and watching sports of any kind, but especially rugby and American football.

Frequently Asked Questions…
How do we get to the camp site? And return?
We provide the option of travelling via the MYC buses. These buses leave from a few central locations around Durban - we’ll confirm these closer to the time.
Want to make your own way there? No problem… we’ll give you the address on sign up. Just make sure you arrive between 9-10am on the first day.
Are we camping?
No. We’ll stay at Camp Noah Living Waters (near Richmond/Eston) but attendees sleep in dorms and similar rooms with bunk beds.
However, it’s not the city, so do expect a certain rustic feel to things, and also poor cell phone signal.
Situated in a valley, it does get cold - especially at night! So please do pack accordingly (we did warn you).
For the parents: who is looking after my child, is she/he safe?…
This Conference is hosted and managed by the team of The Bible Talks KZN. Our aim is to provide a safe environment for your child. Men and women strictly stay in separate accommodation. The camps site is clearly marked, and there is a curfew at night.
You are also most welcome to have the contact details of senior staff members of TBT KZN if you would like to contact them for updates or should any issues arise.
A basic first aid kit and nominated first aider is also on site.
What must I bring?
Warm clothes!! (it gets VERY cold on MYC)
Warm blankets and extra bedding (only a basic bottom sheet is provided)
A pillow
A towel for showers/baths
Comfortable clothes for activities
A Bible (if you have one)
A pen. And a notebook if you want to take extra notes
A water bottle
Medication (if you are on any)
Any feminine hygine products
What if I get a supplementary exam?
MYC takes place AFTER exams and BEFORE the UKZN supplementary exams.
If you are worried you may have/get a supp... still come along! Tell us you need to study and we will make sure you’re assigned a place where you can study. Coming to camp means you have great things to do between your study breaks, and that you are guaranteed 3 meals a day! So don't let your supp put you off coming.
If you’re at another institution (UniZulu, MUT, DUT etc) then please let us know of any possible clashes in dates.
