Do versus Done - It is finished/Kufeziwe (19:30 John)

Do, Do, Do

Keep going

More!

Not finished

Push

Produce

Religion, self-help

(Can’t help myself)

Never-ending

Always more

Another task

Another mission

Another day

So, load it up, burdened

Disappointment, do you feel?

Keep on moving

Dare not stop

Future uncertain

Present, so weary

Am I…?

---------

Do, Do, Do

Change the tune:

Done!

A note of gladness

Joy to hear:

“It is finished! Kufeziwe!”

Hear his cry

(19:30 John)

Sweet release

Rest

The work of Jesus

Accomplished, secure

Completed, fulfilled

Stop.

A lush invitation

with songs and singing

where,

beasts of production

instead restored

to human beings

not doings.

Held

Made

By Another

And so,

doers become followers

of the One full of rest for our souls

And followers receive balm

both needing

what only He gives

and continues to dish out.

Do versus Done

Let it sink in

(Please Lord, help us)

It is finished; Kufeziwe

(19:30 John)

See his cross

Trust his work and words

Sit, walk, run, skip, stand

in his completion

Living out from

“It is finished/Kufeziwe!”
